Around about 2:30 am, I suddenly decided that the dog needed a bath. Immediately. So that's what I did, I gave Pepper a bath (which she loves by the way). Then I had a little fit of cleaning and did some mopping and such, and I just got out of the shower. Because that's completely logical and rational. And no one has been online tonight to entertain me. So I'm sitting around at almost 4am, writing a blog when I have nothing useful to say. Yay!
Hope that everyone had a nice fathers day and weekend and everything. My weekend was pretty much filled with taking pictures, insomnia, and getting things done around here. Nothing too exciting really. I've had to spend alot of money on various things and presents lately leading me to be a bit low on cash so I didn't go out or anything. Speaking of which, earlier this week I was at the movies, and a bottle of Sprite from the Coke machine costs $2.50, what the heck is that?
I have a newfound obsession with music by Thomas Newman. I was checking out some of the tracks from Finding Nemo (shutup, that movie helps me sleep sometimes), and as it turns out he did the soundtrack for it. And Ellery was nice enough to hook me up with some of his other songs, which includes some incredibly beautiful stuff, which led me to get even more songs off of I-tunes. And apparently, I'm the last person on Earth to find out that hey, Thomas Newman rocks.
I'm also really into Howie Day now. Which makes me sound like a 14 year old fangirl. But the thing is, I think I was unfairly predisposed not to like Howie Day based on the fact that the mention of his name gives me a mental image of Howie Mandell. And really, that's not his fault. So since "Collide" is a pretty good song I thought I'd check out some of his other stuff, and I found a few songs I really love. The funny thing is, what I really like are his live songs.
So, not that you needed to, but now you know what I'm listening to these days. All of which makes excellent drawing and sleeping music. (I sometimes sleep with headphones on. Earbuds, that is. Also, I sometimes wake up with headphones wrapped around my neck in uncomfortable ways). I have a new drawing on DA, it's my first (somewhat) successful attempt to draw a person. After I uploaded it I saw alot of small details I wanted to touch up, so it'll be updated soon.
Also, I took some flower pics this weekend that I really like. I've been trying to decide how I want to crop/border/title them, but they'll be posted soon. Maybe tomorrow if I have the time or inclination to do so.
Has anyone been watching that miniseries Into The West on TNT? Right, me either.

(Look, they show the same episode three times every weekend. It's on, I've watched it). The point is, that movie is so... tragic. I find myself thinking clever things like, "The West really sucked" and "I hate wagons" or, "Man, they should've just let her die." The episode that was on tonight was like all the bad things that could possibly happen to a person in that time. And I have just entirely lost my train of thought of where I was going with this. I am really tired. Anyway, I'm really thankful for all of our nice high tech shiny things. That's the lesson of the day. I have to get up early, goodnight.
